1. Policy Statement

Seas The Day Training is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all individuals involved in our training, whether delivered online or in person.

We take safeguarding seriously and are committed to protecting all participants, facilitators, and staff from harm, abuse, neglect, or exploitation.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all individuals engaged with Seas The Day Training, including learners, prospective learners, facilitators, staff, and any third parties involved in course delivery.

3. Definitions

  • Safeguarding: Protecting individuals from harm, abuse, neglect, or exploitation
  • Facilitator: Any individual delivering or supporting course content
  • Participant: Any individual enrolled in a Seas The Day Training course

4. Safeguarding Principles

  • Zero Tolerance: We do not tolerate any form of abuse, harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behaviour
  • Confidentiality: All safeguarding concerns are handled sensitively and confidentially
  • Responsibility: All individuals have a responsibility to act appropriately and report concerns
  • Compliance: This policy is implemented in line with relevant UK safeguarding expectations and good practice

5. Safeguarding Measures

Registration and Access

We may carry out verification checks where appropriate to ensure the safety and integrity of our courses.

Online Interaction

All online interactions, including forums and live sessions, must be respectful and professional. Bullying, harassment, or discriminatory behaviour will not be tolerated.

In-Person Training

For any in-person training, designated individuals will be responsible for safeguarding. Any concerns should be reported to them immediately.

6. Reporting Concerns

Any safeguarding concern or incident should be reported as soon as possible.

All reports will be handled confidentially and taken seriously.

7. Investigation and Action

All safeguarding concerns will be investigated promptly and fairly.

Where appropriate, external authorities may be contacted.

Appropriate action will be taken, which may include removal from a course or further action where necessary.

8. Non-Compliance

Failure to comply with this policy may result in removal from training, suspension of access, or other appropriate action.
